Yes, it’s true. The 2021-2022 edition of the New Moon Catalog has mailed and is on its way to skiers and outdoor adventurers all over the world. It feels almost like Christmas!
The catalog has been through many changes over the years: page size, page number, mailing number, etc., but it always feels like ski season is on its way when we finally receive the catalog at the shop.
Our current printer, Reindl Printing in Merrill, WI, has been printing New Moon’s yearly editions since at least 2006. Scott, our awesome sales rep. from Reindl explains, “We have never missed printing a catalog for New Moon since 2006 and maybe even sooner. The partnership that has been built over the years really does show.” That year, the catalog was 60 pages and mailed to over 30,000 customers.
Here are some more fun facts about the catalog: In 2014, the mailing list was at its smallest at around 15,000. In 2014, the catalog went down in page count to 48. In 2016, the catalog size went from 8.375″x10.875″ more standard size to a 6×11 skinnier, more compact and modern look. In 2020, we tried something new on the cover, a spot UV which adds a super shine to certain design elements. We also went to a matte paper instead of the standard gloss.
This year’s catalog has changed again, back to a more standard size to give us extra room to showcase products and to share some beautiful scenic photos. We are still going with a UV spot highlight on the cover as well as matte paper, and have printed 25,500 catalogs, mailing about 23,400 (we like to get some extra to have here at the shop).
If you haven’t received this year’s edition, don’t worry. Catalogs were sent out on Monday, so with the delays it may take a few more days before you see it at your address; if you’ve ordered from us before, you should receive one soon.
