Earlier this summer, Dustin and Elijah took a trip to Marquette for some riding and relaxing. With Dusty’s big air and Elijah’s photography prowess, a photo essay for the New Moon blog was a given. Here is the magical result.
Marquette, MI is a beautiful maritime town on Lake Superior about 4 hours from Hayward. Marquette is a favorite spot for those who love the outdoors, with scenic hikes, beautiful waterfalls, and the majesty of the lake. Marquette has also become a popular mountain bike destination with over 100 miles of pristine trails and the epic Ore to Shore race, Michigan’s largest mass start, point-to-point MTB event.
Follow along with Dusty and Elijah as they adventure to Marquette.
We had a campsite right by the Carp River and with temperatures hovering around 90 some days we would take several swims a day after each ride.
My favorite trail of the trip was “Chunder Muffin.” It was a downhill run of straight jagged and loose rock gardens with drops straight onto jagged rocks.
